SPARK PLUG INSPECTION
3.Inspect:
Spark plug type
Incorrect → Replace.
Standard spark plug:
CR9E (NGK), U27ESR-N (DENSO)
4.Inspect:
Electrode 1
Wear/damage → Replace.
Insulator 2
Abnormal color → Replace.
Normal color is a medium-to-light tan
color.
5.Clean the spark plug with a spark plug
cleaner or wire brush.
6.Measure:
Plug gap 3
Use a wire gauge or feeler gauge.
Out of specification → Regap.

7.Tighten:
Spark plug

NOTE:
Before installing a spark plug, clean the
gasket surface and plug surface.
If a torque wrench is not available when
you are installing a spark plug, a good
estimate of the correct torque 2 is 1/4 to
1/2 turns past finger tight 1. Have the
spark plug torqued to the correct value as
soon as possible with a torque wrench.
8.Connect:
Spark plug cap

0.7 ~ 0.8 mm (0.028 ~ 0.031 in)
13 Nm (1.3 m • kg, 9.4 ft • lb)
