Removing the Radiator (continued)
Diesel Engine: Service and Repairs
If the radiator or engine is hot, pressurized hot coolant can escape
and cause burns.
Do not open the radiator cap or drain the radiator when the coolant
is hot.
Ethylene-glycol antifreeze is poisonous.
Keep coolant away from children and pets.
Keep the coolant in a labeled container.
Discard the coolant in accordance with local hazardous waste
ordinances.
3. Remove the radiator cap (item 5 in

Screw (3 each)

Flat washer (6 each)

Lock washer (3 each)
4.
Nut (3 each)
4. Remove the pipe plug (item 6 in
and completely drain the coolant from the radiator into a suitable container.
5. Disconnect the following hoses from the radiator:
• The upper radiator hose (item 35 in
water pump.
