Filling the Fuel Tank Using the Rollover Protection System (ROPS) 1. Park the machine on a level surface. Important: The fuel tanks are connected, but the WARNING fuel does not transfer quickly from one tank to the other. It is important when filling that you park To avoid injury or death from rollover: keep the on a level surface.
Think Safety First 2. Lower the roll bar to the down position (Figure 43). Please read all safety instructions and symbols in the safety section. Knowing this information could help you or bystanders avoid injury. DANGER Operating on wet grass or steep slopes can cause sliding and loss of control.
Releasing the Parking Brake The use of protective equipment for eyes, ears, feet and head is recommended. Push forward and down on the parking brake lever to release the parking brake (Figure 46). Operating the Parking Brake Always set the parking brake when you stop the machine or leave it unattended.
Stopping the Engine 5. Move the throttle lever midway between the Fast and Slow positions (Figure 47). 1. Disengage the PTO, move the motion control levers to the neutral locked position, set the parking brake, and 6. Turn the ignition key clockwise to the Run position move the throttle lever to the Slow position.
Operating the Mower Note: The farther you move the traction control levers in either direction, the faster the machine will move in that direction. Raising and Lowering the Mower with the Deck Lift Switch The deck-lift switch raises and lowers the mower deck (Figure 50).
Engaging the Power Take Off (PTO) Using the Safety Interlock System The power take off (PTO) switch starts and stops the mower blades and some powered attachments. CAUTION 1. If the engine is cold, allow the engine to warm up 5 to 10 minutes before engaging the PTO.
Testing the Safety Interlock System Service Interval: Before each use or daily Test the safety interlock system before you use the machine each time. If the safety system does not operate as described below, have an Authorized Service Dealer repair the safety system immediately.
