NOTE:
This topic applies only to the J-Web Application package.
For EX Series switches provide Layer 2 loop prevention through Spanning Tree Protocol
(STP), Rapid Spanning Tree Protocol (RSTP), Multiple Spanning Tree Protocol (MSTP),
and VLAN Spanning Tree Protocol (VSTP). You can configure STP, RSTP, and MSTP by
using the J-Web interface. You can configure bridge protocol data unit (BPDU) protection
on interfaces to prevent them from receiving BPDUs that could result in STP
misconfigurations, which could lead to network outages.
NOTE:
In EX4300 switches, you can configure STP only by enabling RSTP
and forcing it to act as STP. You need to select the Force STP check box from
the RSTP configuration page.
To configure STP, MSTP, or RSTP for an EX Series switch by using the J-Web interface:

The Spanning Tree Configuration page displays the spanning-tree protocol
configuration parameters and a list of interfaces configured for each spanning-tree
protocol configuration.
NOTE:
After you make changes to the configuration on this page, you
must commit the changes for them to take effect. To commit all changes
to the active configuration, select
the Commit Options to Commit Configuration Changes for details about
all commit options.
Click one of the following options:
