Troubleshooting
DTC 2-4
CAUTION: Whenever the ignition switch is ON
fill,
or
has been turned OFF for less than three minutes, be
careful not to bump the SRS unit; the ai,bags could
accidentally deploy and caus. damage or injuries.
Try to reproduce the SRS indicator light:

Erase the OTe m emory (see page 24-28),
2. Turn the igniti on switch ON (II), and check that the SRS
indica tor light comes on for abo ut six seco nds and then
goes off.
Does the SRS indicator light stav on 1
YES
NO

Intermittent failure, system is OK at this time . See
Troubleshooting Intermittent Failures on paae 24-28.
Check for a short to power in the passenger's airbag infla-
tor:
1.
Turn the ignition switch OFF,
2. Disconnect th e battery negative cab le, then disconnect
the positive cable, and wail for three minutes.
3. Disconnect t he front pa sse nger's airbag 2P connector
from the SR5 main harness (see page 24-23).
4.
Connect the special tool (2
0)
to the SRS main harness
2P co nnector. 00 not disconnect the driver's airbag con-
nector.
5. Reconnect the battery positive cable, then reconnect the
negative cable .
6. Erase the DTC m emory (see page 24-28).
7. Read the DTC (see page 24-26) .

passenger's aimag (see page 24-89).
