CAUTION: Whenever the ignition switch is ON (In, or
has been turned OFF for less than three minutes. be
careful not to bump the SRS unit; the airbag. could
accidentally deploy and cause damage or injuries.
Try to reproduce the SRS indicator light:
1.
Erase th e DTC mem ory (see pag e 24-28) ,
2. Turn the ig nition switch ON (il L and check that t he SRS
ind icato r light comes on for about six seconds and then
goes off.

Check for a short to another wire or decrea.ed resistance in
the passenger's airbag inflator:
1- Turn the ig nition switch OFF.
2.
Disconnect the battery negat ive cable, the n disco nnect
the positive cable, and wait for three minut es.
3. Disco nnect t he fro nt passenge r' s airbag

4. Con nect the specia l tool (2

to the S RS main harness
2P connect or. Do not disconnect the driver' s airbag con·
nect ar.
5. Reconn ect the battery positive cable, then reconn ect t he
negat ive cable,
6. Erase the DTC memory (see page
24·28) .
7. Read the DTC (see page 24·261.
