Troubleshooting
OTC 3-3
CAUTION: Whenever the ignition .witch i. ON 1111, or
has been turned OFF for less than three minutes. be
careful not to bump the SRS unit; the airbags could
accidentally deploy and cause damage or injuries.
Try to reproduce the SRS indicator light:
1- Erase the DTC memory (see page 24-28) ,
2.
Turn the ignition switc h ON
(II),
and check that the SRS
indicator light comes on for about six seconds and then
goes off.
Does the SRS indicator light stay on 1
YES
NO

Intermittent failure, system is OK at this time. See
Troubleshootina Intermittent Failures on page 24-28.
Check for a short to another wire or decreased resistance in
the driver's seat belt t.nsioner:
1.
Disconnect the negative banery cable. and wait for three
minutes.
2. Disconnect the driver's seat belt tens io nar 2P co nnector
from the left side wire harness 2P connector (see page
24-23). Do not discon nect the front passenger's seat belt
tensioner 2P connector.
3.
Connect the special tool (2
0)
to the left side wire harness
2P connector.

Reconnect the negative battery cable .
5. Erase the
Ole
memory (see page 24-28).
6.
Read the DTC (see page 24-26).

Short to another wire or decreased resistanee in the
driver's seat bett tensioner; replace the driver's seat belt
(see page 24-911.
