Troubleshooting
OTC 4-5
CAUTION: Whenever the Ignition switch is ON
(II),
or
has been turned OFF for less than three minutes, be
careful not to bump the SRS unit; the airbags could
accidentally deploy and cause damage or injuries.
Try to reproduce the SRS indicator light:
1. Erase the OTe memory (see page 24-281 ,

Turn the ignition switch ON
(11),
and check that the SRS
indicator light comes on for about six seconds, and then
goes off.
Does the SRS indicator tiaht stay on7
YES NO

Intermittent failure, Iystem is OK at this time .

Check for a short to ground In the front passenger's seat belt
tension ... :
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. and wait for three
minutes.
2. Disco nnect the front passenger's seat belt tensioner 2P
connector from the right side wire harness 2P connector
(see page 24-23). Do not disconnect the driver's seat belt
tensioner 2P connector.
3.
Connect the special tool (2
0)
to the right s ide wire har-
ness 2P connector.
4.
Reconnect the negative battery cable.
5. Erase the DTC memory (see page 24-28).
6.
Read the DTC Isee page 24-26).
Is DTe 4-6 indicated1
YES NO
Short to ground in the front passenger', ... t bett ten-
sioner; replace the front passenger's seat belt (see page
24-31.
