Cheek for an open in the side wire harness:
' .
Disconnect tl'1 e left side wire harness 2P co nnector from
the SAS main l'1arness 2P connector.
2. Connect the special tool (2 {}) to the SRS m ain harness
2P connector.
3. Erase the DTe memory.
4. Read the DTC .
Is OTC 3-1 or OTC 3-2 indicated?
YES
NO

left side wire harness;

replace the harness.
Cheek for an open in the SRS main harness:
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable, and wa it for three
minutes.
2.
Disconnect the driver's and front passenger's airbags,
and front passenger's seat belt tensioner con nectors (see
page 24-231.
3. Disconnect the SRS main harness lap connector from
the SAS unit. Do not disconnect the special tool
(2 0)
from the SRS main harness 2P connector.
4. Check resistance between the No.4 and No.1 1 terminals
of the SRS main harness lap connector. There should be
2.0 - 3.0
n.
Is the resistance as specified?
YES
NO
Fautty SRS unit or poor contact at the SAS main harness
18P connector and the SRS unit, check the connection
between the SRS main harness 18P connector and the
SRS unit. tf the connector is OK, replace the SRS un it
(see page 24-951.
Open or Increased resistance in the SRS main ha rness;

replace the
SRS
main harness.
