Troubleshooting

CAUTION: Whenev&< the ignition switch is ON

has be.n turned OFF for le.s than three minute., be
careful not to bump the SRS unit; the airbags could
accidentally deploy and cause damage or injuries.
Check the fuse:
1. Turn the ignition switch OFF .
2.
Check for bl own No. 23 (10 A) fuse in the under-dash
fuse/ relay box.
Is the fuse OK?
YES NO

Replace the fuse. Turn the ignition switch ON (II), and check
that the fuse doesn't blow.
Is tho fuse OK?
YES NO
The problem has disappeared. Test-drive
the vehid.

Check for short to ground between the under-dash fuse'
relay box and the SRS unit.
1.
Turn the ignition switch OFF .
2. Disconn ect the battery negative cable, then disconnect
the positive cable, and wait for three minutes.
3. Di sconnect the driver' s and front passenger's airbag can·
nectors (see page 24·23).
4. Di sco nnect the
SRS
main harness

connector from
the SRS unit.
5. Check resistance between the No.3 terminal of the SRS
m ain harness

There should be 1

or more.
