Troubleshooting
OTe 8-6 - '97 model
CAUTION: Whenever the ignition switch is ON
(II),
or
has been turned OFF for less than three minutes, be
careful not to bump the SRS unit; the airbags could
accidentally deploy and cause damage or injuries.

and 2-4,1-4
and 2-1,
or 1-4
and 2-4 occurred at
the
same
time.
Proceed in
the
order shown
bel
ow.
Check the SRS
main
harness:
1.
Disconnect
the battery
negative cable
,
then disconnect
the
positive
cable,
and
wait
for three
min ut
es.
2.
Disconnect
the
drive
r'
s airbag
a
nd
fro
nt
passenger'
s
airbag
co nnectors (see
page 24-23),
3.
Disconnect the SRS main harness 18P
co nnector
from
the SRS
unit.
4.
Reconnect the
banery
positive cable,
th en reconn ect
the
negative cable.

Turn
the ig
nitio
n
switch
ON
(II
).
6.
Connect
a voltmete
r
and measure voltage
between
the
No.
10
terminal
of
the SAS main
hamess
lap
co
nnector
and ground, and
between
the No. 14 terminal and ground.
There
shou
ld
be
approx.
0
-
0.5 V.
Are voltages
as
specified?
YES
NO

Sh~rt
to
power

the
SRS
main
harness;
replace the SRS

maio harness.
Check
the SRS
main harness
and
the
cable
reel:
Con
nect
a voltmeter and
mea
su re vo ltage
between
the No.
1
terminal
of the
SRS
main
harness
laP
connector and
ground,
and
between the
No.
13
terminal
and
ground.
There
sh
ould be
approx. 0
-
0.5 V.
Are voltages
as
specified?
