The countershaft is now assembled and ready for
installation.
AT THIS POINT
If the drive bevel gear assembly or secondary output
shaft assemblies were disassembled, use the follow-
ing procedure to assemble them.
9. Install new output drive bearings in the left and
right transmission cases; then install the output
shaft into the right-side transmission bearing.
10. Install the output driven gear, shims, drive bevel
gear, and washer onto the secondary output shaft;
then install a new retaining nut and tighten to spec-
ifications. Stake the retaining nut to the shaft.
11. Install a shim, front driven shaft bearing, driven
shaft seal, and yoke on the front of the output
driven shaft; then secure with a washer and nut.
Tighten to specifications and stake the nut to the
shaft.

12. Install the rear drive gear bearing, oil seal, and out-
put drive flange to the rear of the output driven
shaft; then secure with a washer and nut. Tighten
to specifications and stake the nut.
NOTE: The drive bevel gear and secondary out-
put shaft assemblies are now ready for installa-
tion.
Assembling Gear Case
1. Install new bearings and seals in the left-side and
right-side cases as required.
