Condition
5 An error "Cannot
open a file" is dis-
played.

send a Term Test
file" is displayed.
An error "Unsuc-
cessful transmis-
sion to the LPT
port" is displayed.
Cause
The file is being used by anther pro-
gram or system.
The connection of the cable is loos-
ened.
The main body is not in the receiving
condition.

Wrong data has been sent.
The length of the cable is out of spec-
ifications.
The parallel port of the PC is set to
the ECP mode.
There is a compatibility problem
between the parallel port of the PC
and the port on the main body side.
5. FIRMWARE VERSION UP
Measure taken
Exit another program. The error still
recurs, reboot Windows.
Check the cable to see if it is con-
nected securely or if there is any prob-
lem found with the cable itself.
Check the main body to see if it is in
the receiving condition.
Check the cable to see if it is con-
nected securely or if there is any prob-
lem found with the cable itself.
Check the file status screen to see if
the receiving mode on the copier side
(type of receiving board) corresponds
with the transferred file on the PC
side.
Use a cable the length of which is less
than 2 m.
See the PC manual to release the
ECP mode.
Conduct a test with a PC with an
actual performance of transmission,
and check to see if there is a compat-
ibility problem found.
