This command is supported after the platform version 4.6.02.
Neighbor solicitation messages are sent to the multicast addresses
of the link while duplicate address detection is performed on the
unicast IPv6 addresses of the interface. If there is no reply of
neighbor solicitation messages, the address is regarded as unique
and usable. By default, only one neighbor solicitation message
is sent. If the link is not so good, the reply of the neighbor so-
licitation message may get lost, it may the result of DAD is not
correspondent to the fact. Thus you can configure the maximum
number of neighbor solicitation messages to ensure the reliability
of the DAD result.
This example describes how to set the number of neighbor solici-
tation messages sent on an interface as 5.
ZXR10(config)#interface fei_1/1
ZXR10(config-if)#ipv6 dad-attemps 5
show ipv6 interface
debug ipv6 nd
ipv6 address

ipv6 enable

Use this command to enable an IPv6 interface. Disable the inter-
face with the no form of this command.
Interface configuration

ipv6 enable

no ipv6 enable
IPv6 interface is disabled by default.
This command is supported after the platform version 4.6.02.
IPv6 interface is disabled by default. Enable an IPv6 interface with
the ipv6 enable command. After the interface is enabled, if it is
up after the negotiation of the interface protocol, and then the
linklocal address will be automatically configured on the interface.
This example describes how to enable an IPv6 interface.
ZXR10(config)#int fei_3/1
ZXR10(config-if)#ipv6 enable
ipv6 address linklocal
show ipv6 interface
