No confederation identifier is configured by default.
When an autonomous system is too large (more than 100 IBGP
peer sessions need establishing), the confederation method can
be used to divide the autonomous system into many small au-
tonomous systems, while the combined confederation is still con-
sidered as an autonomous system by the outside.
This example describes how to set the confederation identifier as

ZXR10(config-router)#bgp confederation identifier 3

bgp confederation peers

Use this command to configure the autonomous systems that be-
long to the confederation. Remove an autonomous system from
the confederation with the no form of this command.
Router configuration
bgp confederation peers <value>[<value>]
no bgp confederation peers [<value>]
<value>
No confederation peer end.
In a confederation, to identify an external neighbor as the exter-
nal neighbor of the same confederation, the neighbor AS number
should be configured with this command. At most 25 autonomous
systems can input after this command once, and totally 255 au-
tonomous systems can be configured.
This example describes how to set the neighbor with AS 65500 as
the confederation peer.
ZXR10(config)#router bgp 1
ZXR10(config-router)#bgp confederation peers 65500
bgp confederation identifier

bgp default local-preference

Use this command to configure the local priority of the routes ad-
vertised by the BGP. Restore default with the no form of this com-
mand.
