ipv6 router pimsm bsr-candidate
ipv6 router pimsm
bsr-candidate
Use this command to configure a router to announce itself as the
Bootstrap Router (BSR) candidate. Cancel this router as the can-
didate BSR with the no form of this command.
Global configuration
ipv6 router pimsm bsr-candidate <ipv6 addr>[<hash-mask-l
ength>][<priority>]
no ipv6 router pimsm bsr-candidate
<ipv6-addr>
<hash-mask-length>
<priority>
Local router is not the candidate BSR by default.
The default priority level of candidate BSR is 0. The candidate with
the higher priority level will be BSR. If many routers with the same
priority level, then IP address will be compared, the candidate with
the larger address will be BSR.
It is recommended to configure BSR on the loopback interface,
which can reduce the network flapping because of physical inter-
face up/down.
This example describes how to configure some address as candi-
date BSR, whose hash mask length is 30 and priority level is 100.
