Replacement Procedures
Floppy Disk Drives (Not Used on Printers with Flash
Memory)
1. Turn off the printer.
2. Disconnect the printer AC power cable from the power source.
3. Remove the printer left rear cover (page 401).
4. Remove the controller module side cover. (See the illustration on the
following page.)
5. Disconnect the interface cable and power cables from the floppy disk
drives. If necessary, tag the interface cables for identification, to ensure
that each cable is reconnected to its proper drive later.
6. Remove the screws (4) which hold the two disk drive brackets to the
controller module. Remove the bracket and floppy disk drives from the
printer.
7. Remove the screws (2) which secure each drive to the bracket.
8. To install the disk drives, reverse the above steps.
IMPORTANT
When installing floppy disk drives, be sure that you connect each
interface cable to the correct floppy disk drive.
