Drive Principles
There are four types of rollers in the transport path of the cut sheet feeder
unit:
•
Carry-out roller — driven by the cut sheet pickup motor, via the cut sheet
pickup clutch.
•
Input feed roller — driven by the cut sheet pickup motor, via the cut sheet
pickup clutch.
•

•
Register roller — driven by the cut sheet pickup motor, via the paper
register clutch.
Cassette Principles
•
Inside the paper supply cassette, there is a metal plate hopper which
presses the paper against the carry-out roller. When no cassette is set,
this hopper is hooked on the hopper stopper. When a cassette is set in
place, the hopper stopper and the cassette setter make contact; the lock
is disengaged and springs up.
•
When removing the cassette, the hopper is also dragged along the
grooves to the lower position, hooked by the hopper stopper, and locked
again.
