Replacement Procedures
2. Remove the screws (2) securing the bracket to the printer.
3. Insert your hand from the top of the rear panel, then remove the sensor
with the bracket attached.
4. Remove the screws (2) securing the sensor to the bracket.
Paper exit sensor 0 (EPS0) / Nip switch (NPSW)
Paper exit sensor 0 and the nip switch are attached to the scuff guide, at the
exit of the paper output section.
Paper exit sensor 0 detects the arrival and transport speed of the paper.
The nip switch detects whether the scuff roller that sends paper from the fuser
to the paper output section is nipping.
In order to remove this sensor and switch, you must first remove the paper
output section paper retainer, the face down paper output tray paper guide,
and the output paper guide. (See "Cutter Unit" on page 484.)
Paper exit sensor 0 (EPS0)
1. Disconnect the connector from paper exit sensor 0.

2. Remove the E-ring that secures the sensor bracket to the scuff guide on
the paper output side.
3. Remove the sensor bracket with paper exit sensor 0 attached.
