CAUTION
When installing the controller board, be sure that you connect the
ribbon cables to their proper connectors on the controller board. Also,
be sure that you orient each ribbon cable connector properly when you
connect it to its mating connector on the controller board.
2. Observing the correct pin orientation, connect the ribbon cables to the
controller board and slide the controller board into the card cage, as
shown in Figure 1.
3. Press inward on the controller board to seat it in its card cage connector.
4. Install the controller board retaining brackets (2) and secure them with the
screws (2) you removed earlier.
5. Replace the host interface panel and secure it with the screws and
washers. (See Figure 1.)
6. Replace the printer left rear cover (page 401).
7. Connect the printer AC power cable to the power source.
8. Turn on the printer.
9. Download the emulation(s) (page 374).
10. Using the configuration printout(s) you made in step 1 of the removal
procedure, restore the printer configuration(s). (Refer to the User's
Manual .)

Terminating Resistors

For parallel interface configurations, the printer is equipped with 470 ohm
pullup terminating resistors and 1K ohm pulldown terminating resistors on the
controller board. These are suitable for most applications. (See the figure on
the following page.)
If the standard terminating resistor packs are not compatible with the
particular interface driver requirements of the host computer, other values of
pullup and pulldown resistors might be required. Possible terminating resistor
combinations are:

Removal
1. Remove the controller board (page 516).
2. Locate the terminating resistor packs. (See the figure on the following
page.)
3. Carefully remove the resistor packs from their sockets on the controller
board.
