Location of the 5.25-Inch Drive Bay
The 5.25-inch drive bay holds a peripheral carrier (mounting frame) to which you attach
peripherals. The carrier is open at the front to accept peripherals, and has blind-mating
connectors at the rear for power and SCSI data.
Drives in the 5.25-inch bay are connected to SCSI channel 1, which is single-ended, fast
and narrow, running at 10 MHz, and is capable of transferring 10 MB per second.
The next sections describe how to configure drives, install them in the 5.25-inch drive
bay, remove them from the drive bay, and test that drives are installed correctly.
