8. After you have finished installing the PCI board, remove your wrist strap and
reassemble the system.
Replace the chassis access door and side panel (the reverse of removing them).
Reattach the cables to the back of the system.
Do not discard the blanking plate that you removed from the Origin200 chassis. If

you ever decide to remove the PCI option board, you must replace this blanking plate to
ensure proper airflow through the Origin200 chassis.
The following steps describe how to remove a PCI option board from an Origin200
server.
1. Shut down the system completely. See "Turning Off the System" in Chapter 4.
Be sure to turn off the master power switch.
2. Prepare the system for servicing.
Disconnect any cables from the rear of the chassis.
If you have to move the system, you may find it easier to lift and carry if you
remove the disk drives first.
If the system is mounted in an equipment rack, remove it from the rack and
place it on a sturdy work surface. See "Removing a Server From an Equipment
Rack" in Chapter 3.
3. Open the system.
If the system is in a tower configuration, remove the side panel. See "Removing
the System Cover and Chassis Access Door" on page 118.
Remove the chassis access panel (tower and rack systems). See "Removing the
System Cover and Chassis Access Door" on page 118.
If the system is in a tower configuration, place it on its side on a sturdy work
surface.
