Data compatibility

The TR maintains data compatibility with the TRITON Le
format (system version 1.0 and 1.5) for each type of data. In
addition, .PCG/.SNG files from the TRITON (TRITON/TRI-
TON-pro/TRITON-proX/TRITON-Rack/TRITON STU-
DIO system version 2.0 or later / TRITON Extreme) and the
KARMA Music Workstation (system version 1.0 and 2.0) can
also be converted while loading.
Data is compatible whether you load/save via media, via
MIDI exclusive data dump, or via parameter changes. How-
ever, the following restrictions and cautions apply.
In the explanations that follow, the TRITON/TRITON-
pro/TRITON-proX/TRITON-Rack/TRITON STUDIO/
TRITON Extreme are collectively referred to as the TRI-
TON.
Complete data compatibility is maintained for TRITON
.KSC, .KMP, .KSF, .MID, .AIF, and .WAV files. This data
can be loaded/saved via external media.
The program or combination category may become
inappropriate.

Compatibility with the TRITON Le

Parameters that are invalid on the TRITON Le ver-
sion 1.0 but valid on the TR
1. Global mode "RT (Realtime Command)"
This is saved as internal data for the TRITON Le version 1.0,
but the data is ignored. However if you save as a .PCG file in
this state, the setting will be saved to media as it is.
2. Global mode "Foot SW Assign" and "Foot Pedal
Assign" settings
The Global mode "Foot SW Assign" JS+Y (CC#01) — Tap
Tempo settings and the "Foot Pedal Assign" JS+Y (CC#01)—
Knob4 settings are for functions that do not exist on the TRI-
TON Le version 1.0, so the sound/operation will not be cor-
rect.

Compatibility with the TRITON

Parameters that are valid on the TRITON but invalid
on the TR
1. Insert effect (IFX)
The TR provides one insert effect (IFX). If you load a
.PCG/.SNG file from the TRITON, which is able to use
five insert effects, the parameters for IFX2, 3, 4, and 5 in
each type of data* will not be loaded. The parameters for
IFX1 will be loaded as IFX parameters.
* The programs, combinations, drum kits, and global
settings, and songs (TRITON/TRITON-pro/TRI-
TON-proX/TRITON-Rack/TRITON STUDIO/TRI-
TON Extreme) or multi (TRITON-Rack) data.
250
2. "BUS Select" parameter
The TR provides four audio outputs: (MAIN) L/MONO,
R, and (INDIVIDUAL) 1, 2. If you load a .PCG/.SNG file
from a TRITON, which is able to use audio outputs
(INDIVIDUAL) 3 and 4 as well, the "BUS Select" param-
eter settings of this data will be converted as follows
while loading.
IFX1 → IFX
IFX2 → L/R
IFX3 → L/R
IFX4 → L/R
IFX5 → L/R
3. TRITON STUDIO, TRITON Extreme
• RAM sample parameter "+12 dB" setting
Since the TR does not have the corresponding sample
parameter, the "+12 dB" On setting will be ignored when
a .KSF file saved by the TRITON STUDIO or TRITON
Extreme is loaded into the TR.
• Input (COMBI, PROG, SEQ, S.PLAY, MEDIA): S/P
DIF setting
On the TR, data other than this will be loaded.
• "System Clock"
This is maintained as internal data, but the data will be
ignored.
4. TRITON Extreme
• VALVE FORCE parameters
The TR will maintain these parameter settings as internal
data, but will ignore them. When you save this state as a
.PCG file and load it into the TRITON Extreme, or trans-
mit it to the TRITON Extreme as a MIDI data dump, the
parameter settings will be initialized. The TR will not
receive MIDI parameter changes for VALVE FORCE
parameters.
5. TRITON/TRITON-pro/TRITON-proX
• Global mode "PC I/F Baud Rate," "Beep," and "MIDI
Clock"
On the TR these settings are maintained as internal data,
but this data is ignored.
"MIDI Clock" will function as External if set to External
PCI/F.
6. TRITON-Rack
• "System Clock"
This is maintained as internal data, but the data is
ignored.
Parameters that are invalid on the TRITON but valid
on the TR
1. TRITON/TRITON-pro/TRITON-proX, TRITON
STUDIO, TRITON Extreme
• Audition Riff and Transpose settings
These parameter settings are maintained as internal data,
but this data is ignored. If this state is saved as a .PCG file
or transmitted as a MIDI data dump by the TRITON
Extreme, TRITON STUDIO, or TRITON, the data will be
saved or transmitted in the state in which it was loaded
or received.
3 → 1
4 → 2
3/4 → 1/2
