Entering data

The 12-button alphanumeric KEYPAD is used for entering
numbers, letters, or special characters into a variety of fields,
such as waypoint coordinates, waypoint names, and so on.
A typical entry screen will display several items of data. First,
choose the item you want to change by pressing the CURSOR
PAD to move the flashing cursor to that item. The cursor
appears as a flashing red box that represents the place where
Keypad
the next typed character is to appear. The flashing cursor
indicates which character position will be written into. Use the
LEFT ARROW and RIGHT ARROW keys on the KEYPAD to
move the flashing cursor to the next character you want to
enter. In some fields, numbers will automatically go into their
correct places. At times, a CLEAR ENTRY key or a RESTORE
ENTRY key may be available; these keys clear the field of data,
or restore the cleared field, respectively.
Press the up and down arrows of the CURSOR PAD to move to
the next line you want to enter.
