Chapter 3 - Using the Controls
Page 3-16
Both steering screens use two menu keys—STOP NAV and
RESTART HERE—to control steering functions:
Use the STOP NAV/RESUME NAV key to stop navigation
to a waypoint, or resume navigation when desired.
"Stopping" navigation means that the 961/962 turns off
waypoint messages and sequencing. For details about
stopping navigation, see "Stopping navigation" starting on
page 11-15.
Use the RESTART HERE key to restart the track line to
the active waypoint (XTE becomes zero) so that your
present position becomes the initial track point (your
vessel will subsequently follow any remaining waypoints
in the trip). For details about restarting the track, see
"Restarting the track" starting on page 10-19.
Traditional steer screen
The traditional STEER screen shows your active waypoint, if
any; distance and bearing from your present position to the
active waypoint; XTE (shown numerically, and graphically at
the lower part of the screen); SOG and COG; and ETA and ETE.
