Displaying avoidance points

CAUTION!
The 961/962's avoidance-point alarm is only an
extra safety feature that helps inform you of
possible hazards. It doesn't replace the person on
watch, local knowledge, proper use of charts, or
any other aspects of good seamanship required for
safe navigation.
Avoidance points are displayed on three different screens. For
the type of display and its corresponding location, see "Table
5: Displaying avoidance points" below.

Displaying avoidance points on the chart screen
Avoidance points are displayed on the CHART screen using a
standard avoidance-point symbol, which is the universal
caution symbol (an exclamation point inside a triangle). If the
points' radii are sufficiently large, the caution symbol will be
centered inside a visible red circle. Unlike waypoints, you can't
control the appearance of avoidance points on the CHART
screen. All avoidance points are displayed with this symbol
and their user-defined names.
To see avoidance points on the CHART screen, press the
CHART key.
