OBJECTIVE:
You've just received
your HCRF charts and
want to load them onto
the 961/962. You have
either a Navigator
license or a Skipper
license.

Loading HCRF charts
To load HCRF charts, you'll need:
the Chart CD (contains the charts)
the Update CD (contains the updates to those charts)
the Permit Disk (contains your license and the chart permits)
If you're using the Skipper series, it is highly recommended that you
first organize your charts by keeping a basic log of their source CDs.
For further information, see "Understanding the ARCS Skipper
series" starting on page 13-41.
1. Press the STAR key until you reach the SETUP MENU
screen, then press the CHART INVENTORY key.
2. At the CHART INVENTORY screen, press the LOAD/
UPDATE CHARTS key.
3. Insert the Update CD—loading and updating always begins
with the Update CD—into the CD-ROM drive, and insert
the Permit Disk into the appropriate drive.
4. Press the LOAD CHARTS key.
5. At the SELECT CHART SOURCE screen, press the LIST
CHARTS key.
The CD is scanned for the charts, and a list appears on
the CHARTS ON DISK screen. Each chart for which you
have a permit is pre-marked as LOAD in the OPTION
column.
(If you want to load a chart that doesn't have a
corresponding chart permit, first you must manually enter
this chart permit before loading the chart; for details, see
"Manually entering a chart permit" starting on page
13-50.)
6. Press the LOAD CHARTS key, then at the LOADING
CHARTS dialog box, press the LOAD MARKED CHARTS
key.
If at least one chart marked "load" on the disk is already
loaded, you must choose whether to load the newest
