Chapter 7 - Creating Avoidance Points
Page 7-6
The AVOIDANCE POINTS screen lists all your existing
avoidance points, showing radius, name, distance from your
present position, bearing, and lat/lon or TDs and GRI.
To select an avoidance point (indicated by the horizontal
stripe), press the CURSOR PAD up or down.
To the right of the LONGITUDE column is a red vertical slide
bar, which is relative to the size of the list of avoidance points.
The smaller the slider, the larger the list; the larger the slider,
the smaller the list. The slider also indicates your relative
position in the list.
The radii of the avoidance points can be displayed in meters or
yards, depending upon which distance and speed units you've
selected on the DISPLAY SETUP screen. The radii of
avoidance points can range from 1 to 999 yards or meters. To
display the radius in yards (one yard equals 36 inches), on the
DISPLAY SETUP screen, select either MI/MPH or NM/KTS; to
display radius in meters (one meter equals 39.37 inches), select
KM/KPH. Remember: whatever units you select will affect all
of the distance and speed-related displays.
