15. Install the access panel .
16. Install the server into the rack.
17. Connect the power cords:
a. Connect each power cord to the server.
b. Connect each power cord to the power source.
18. Power up the server.
19. Install SAS, SATA, or U.3 NVMe drives .
20. Install the front bezel .

Prerequisites Prerequisites
Before you perform this procedure, make sure that you have a T-10 Torx screwdriver available.

CAUTION: CAUTION: A discharge of static electricity from a finger or other conductor might damage system boards or other static-
sensitive devices. To prevent damage, observe antistatic precautions.
CAUTION: CAUTION: To prevent improper cooling and thermal damage, do not operate the server unless all bays are populated with
either a component or a blank.
Procedure Procedure
1. Back up all server data.
2. If installed, remove the front bezel .
3. Power down the server.
4. Remove all power:
a. Disconnect each power cord from the power source.
b. Disconnect each power cord from the server.
5. Disconnect all peripheral cables from the server.
6. Remove the server from the rack.
7. Place the server on a flat, level work surface.
8. Remove the access panel .
9. Remove the middle cover .
10. Disconnect following cables from the system board:
4 SFF NVMe drive controller cables
Drive power cable
11. Remove the 4 SFF NVMe drive cage:
drive cage option
