Upgrading QIAcuity Software Suite to new version

The latest Software Suite version 2.1 is only compatible with the control software version 2.1. If
only one software component is updated, no connection between the Software Suite and the control
software can be established.
Important: It is strongly recommended to update the Software Suite first before proceeding with the
control software.
Important: Upgrading to the QIAcuity Software Suite 2.1 should be performed without uninstallation
of the previously installed QIAcuity Software Suite version 2.1. Please continue with steps described
in page 40 on how to upgrade the QIAcuity Software Suite 1.2 or 2.0. We support following
upgrade scenarios:
From 1.2 directly to 2.1

From 2.0 to 2.1

Note: All older versions than Software Suite version 1.2.18 are not supported for a direct upgrade
to 2.1 (in case if update from 1.1.3 to newer version is required please follow section "Updating
QIAcuity Software Suite 1.1.3 to 1.2.18").
Note: For software upgrade from Software Suite version 2.0 to 2.1, please ensure that each user
has assigned only one role in the system. Otherwise, it may cause an error in the User Management
after the software upgrade to version 2.1.
Note: Before updating the QIAcuity Suite software to version 2.1, please make sure that the system
data and time of the laptop to be used are up to date. Be sure to set the Time Zone in Windows
first, and then adjust the date and time, if needed. If an adjustment is required, please restart your
QIAcuity Suite application followed by Control Software before proceeding with the software
update.
The QIAcuity Software Suite 2.1 automatically creates a data backup during the upgrade process,
if this option was not deselected by the user during the upgrade (you need to click "Options" to see
checkbox). The backup folder will be created on C:\qiacuity_backup_<ddMMyyyyHHmmss>. The
last part of above path is a timestamp which will allow the user to differentiate backups. Please
make sure that there is enough free space on your hard drive C:\. You can use Disk Space tool
from the Software Suite to monitor available space or directly check in Windows Explorer how
much space your installation already takes – you need at least the same amount of space for backup
as the amount of space for installation. Otherwise, in case of not enough disc space during upgrade
