Assign Handsets to Users
Step 2
(Optional) Change the Access Code (AC).
We recommend that you change the AC to prevent users from deregistering the handset.
Step 3
Click Add extension.
Step 4
Set the Line name. Typically, this is the name of the user.
Step 5
For a new handset, set Terminal to New Terminal.
Step 6
Set the Extension field to the telephone number assigned to the user.
Step 7
Set the Authentication User Name field to the user ID assigned to the user.
Step 8
Set the Authentication Password field to the user's assigned password..
Step 9
Set the Display Name field to the name you want to be displayed on the handset screen.
Step 10
Set the Server field to the Server Alias you configured when you added the base station.
Step 11
Configure the remaining extension fields, as described in
87.
Step 12
Click Save.
Step 13
(Optional) Repeat steps 2 to 10 to add more handsets.

Assign Handsets to Users
When you set up multiple handsets, you need to assign each handset to a specific user. Each user has a unique
phone number and voicemail box, and may have different features. You can assign individual access code to
each handset with the Terminal web page fields or in the configuration file (.xml). You can set the access
code this way in the configuration file:
<Subscr_Dect_Ac_Code_x_>nnnn</Subscr_Dect_Ac_Code_x_>

If the access code is more than 4 digits, only the first 4-digits are accepted.
To assign the handset to the user, you assign the International Portable Equipment Identity (IPEI) number of
the handset to the correctly configured extension. The IPEI number for the handset is located in these locations:
• On the label of the box that contained the handset
• Under the handset battery
