DISASSEMBLY
1. Remove the three bolts retaining water pump cover

2. Place the water pump drive tab
jaw vice.
3. Remove the bolt and washer retaining the water
pump impeller to the shaft. Inspect the impeller veins
and water pump housing for damage. Replace as
needed.
NOTICE
The water pump impeller bolt
(reverse thread).
4. Remove impeller from water pump shaft.
5. Using an appropriate arbor press, properly support
the water pump housing and press out the water
pump shaft from the impeller side.

6. Extract the mechanical seal and the oil seal from the
water pump housing.
A 5/32" (4 mm) diameter punch
lubrication slot to aid in the removal of the oil seal. Be
sure not to damage the water pump shaft bearing
surface.
7. Inspect the water pump shaft bore for excessive wear
or damage. Replace water pump housing assembly if
necessary.
8. Clean and inspect water pump shaft for excessive
wear or damage. Replace water pump housing
assembly if necessary, as shaft can not be purchased
separately.
9. Thoroughly clean mechanical seal and oil seal bores.
10. Install a NEW oil seal into the water pump housing
until fully seated.
11. Fully install the water pump shaft and two washers
into the housing.
12. Place water pump drive tab vertically into soft jaw
vice as previously shown in this procedure.
