Stand-alone installation testing

DS1/E1 non-terminating equipment transmission testing (LNW84 without optics)
Perform this test when the Alcatel-Lucent 1665 DMXtend is equipped with LNW84
without optics in the main slots.
Facility Loopback testing allows the installer to verify the electrical cabling to the Alcatel-
Lucent 1665 DMXtend NE. Follow the procedure below to perform a facility loopback
test at the Alcatel-Lucent 1665 DMXtend shelf.
To test cabling to the DSX-1, use a DS1/E1 test set to transmit and receive toward the
facility loopback.
Perform the following tests for each DS1/E1 circuit cabled to the Alcatel-Lucent 1665
DMXtend.

Once the loopback is up, a test signal is generated at the DS1/E1 terminating equipment
which will verify that the cabling is correct.
