C.4 Connecting to the electricity source
Each system module requires a separate, grounded power source. The ground connection in all
power outlets must be common and physically close to the system.
You can connect the system to an electricity source on a wall or to the electricity source on a
micro cart.
C.4.1 Connecting to a wall electricity source
Warning:
• Use SVT-type power cords in the United States and HAR-type power cords, or
better, in Europe. For requirements elsewhere, contact your local Waters distributor.
• Inspect the power cords for damage and replace them if necessary.
• Power-off and unplug each module before performing any maintenance operation on
it.
• Connect each module to a common ground.
Note:
Some column modules, such as the column-heater (CH-A) and the column-heater 30-cm
(CH-30A), receive their power from the sample manager via the interconnect cable.
To avoid electric shock, observe these precautions:
