Thermal Fuse Removal and Replacement

When the large oven temperature reaches the maximum
temperature threshold, the thermal fuse (high temperature cut-out)
breaks the electrical circuit in order to protect the electronics from
abnormally high heat conditions.

and the correct part number when replacing this component.

1. Follow all safety precautions and steps in the Preparing the Range
for Servicing, page 25.
NOTE: The thermal fuse is installed at the back of the range,
typically inside the terminal box.
2. Detach the wire connectors from the terminals and make a note of
how the wires are connected (label and tag, or photograph).
3. Remove and retain the screw(s) securing the thermal fuse to the
range chassis.
4. Replace the thermal fuse if needed.
6.11 Removal and Replacement of Front-Accessible
Components
This section contains removal and replacement procedures for the
components that can be accessed from the front of the range. Some
of these components also require access from the top of the range
(removal of maintop components), or from the side of the range.

Oven Temp Sensor for Large Oven – Removal and
Replacement
For the large oven temperature sensor, access is required from
both the front and side of the range.
Before replacing the temperature sensor, see Oven Temperature
Sensor Diagnostics, page 18.
For the steam oven temperature sensor, see Temperature Sensor for
Steam Oven – Removal and Replacement, page 48.

1. Follow all safety precautions and steps in Preparing the Range for
Servicing, page 25.
2. Remove the right side panel for the large oven (see Side Panel
Removal and Replacement, page 32).
3. Remove oven door (see Removing the Door, page 110).
4. Remove oven trays.
5. From inside the oven cavity, remove and retain the two screws on
the temperature sensor (see Figure 187).
6. At the right side of the range, disconnect the wire connector to the
sensor, and then pull the sensor inside the oven cavity.
7. Replace the sensor if necessary.
