5. Clean removed components with cleaning solvent and examine
pinion gear for wear and chipped teeth and spring for tension or
distortion and replace assembly as required.
Do not allow cleaning solvent to come in contact
with starter motor.
6. Aoolv a liaht coat of low temperature lithium grease
23 24
to motor shaft (7) and slide on pinion gear (3), wind
counterclockwise to seat.
7. Slide spring (4) and pinion collar (5) on motor shaft
23 24
(7).
