8. Lift the driveshaft from the gearcase and set it aside.

9. Using a piece of wire or other hooking device, remove

driveshaft spring guide (8).
Models 40 and 50 are not equipped with removable
driveshaft spring guide.
10. Reach inside gearcase and remove roller bearing (9) and
14
bevel gear A (10).
11. Remove the stopper and lift cam rod (11) from gearcase.

Fully disassemble the cam rod components, including the
cam rod bushing internal and external o-rings.
12. Remove clutch push rod (12) and detent ball (13) from
16
propeller shaft. Pull propeller shaft out of housing.
13. Remove washer (14), bevel gear (15), and all shims (16)
17
from propeller shaft.
