Usage guidelines
The MP sort buffer size = the number of channels in the current MP bundle × size. You can use the display
ppp mp command to view the number of member channels in an MP bundle. If the calculated MP sort
buffer size is 20, the MP sort buffer can sort 20 packets.
When MP is used, the received packets might be out of order. The sort buffer is used to re-sort packets.
The sort buffer size is a trade-off between re-sorting effect and delay. A large sort buffer brings good
re-sorting effect but increases delay. For voice packets, the transmission delay should be minimized.
Examples
# Configure the MP sort buffer size factor as 64.
<Sysname> system-view
[Sysname] interface mp-group 1
[Sysname-MP-group1] ppp mp sort-buffer-size 64

ppp mp timer lost-fragment

Use ppp mp timer lost-fragment to configure the timer for MP to wait for the expected fragment.
Use undo ppp mp timer lost-fragment to restore the default.
Syntax
ppp mp timer lost-fragment seconds
undo ppp mp timer lost-fragment
Default
The timer is not started.
Views
MP-group interface view
Predefined user roles
network-admin
Parameters
seconds: Specifies the timer for MP to wait for the expected fragment, in the range of 1 to 255 seconds.
Usage guidelines
This timer is used to check whether the expected fragment arrives. If it arrives before the timer expires, MP
reassembles the fragments of the current packet. If it does not arrive before the timer expires, MP moves
the sliding window and reassembles the fragments of the next packet.
Examples
# Configure the timer for MP to wait for the expected fragment as 20 seconds.
<Sysname> system-view
[Sysname] interface mp-group 1
[Sysname-MP-group1] ppp mp timer lost-fragment 20
