Melter Mounting Considerations

The following are some important factors when evaluating where to mount
and install the melter:
The maximum distance between the melter and each applicator is
S
dictated by the power requirement of each hose. Refer to Calculating
Melter Power Requirements (Appendix A), for information about how
to determine the maximum allowable length.
When selecting the parent machine or support structure, follow these
S
guidelines:

It must be level with respect to the floor.

It must provide an even mounting surface.
-
It must be capable of supporting the weight of the melter
including hot melt.

It must not be exposed to excessive vibration.
The melter must be installed so that it can be safely removed from its
S
sub-base.
The melter must be installed away from areas with strong drafts or
S
where sudden temperature changes occur.
The melter must be installed where it will be in conformance with the
S
ventilation requirements specified in the Safety Data Sheet for the hot
melt being used.
The operator must be able to safely observe the level of hot melt
S
inside the tank.
The operator must be able to safely access and accurately monitor
S
the user interface.
