Note: A properly-functioning IP trunk card displays one of the above
codes. If an IP trunk card encounters a problem, a fault code is displayed.

RS-232 maintenance port
The Media Card 32-port trunk card has a DIN-8 (RS-232) maintenance port
(DCE) connection on the faceplate and an alternative connection to the same
serial port on the I/O backplane.
CAUTION
Do not connect two maintenance terminals to both the
faceplate and I/O panel serial maintenance port
connections at the same time.
The Media Card 32-port trunk card provides the following interfaces on the
backplane connector:
DS-30X voice/signalling
card LAN
one RS-232 serial COM port for the Command Line Interface (CLI)
10BaseT ELAN and 10/100BaseT TLAN Ethernet ports
Use the following guidelines when installing the Media Card 32-port trunk
card:
Ensure CS 1000 Release 4.0 software is installed and running.
