This chapter describes the tasks you perform to set up your system for the first time and includes the
following sections:
Configuring Cisco Unified Communications Manager for Your
Cisco TelePresence System
Before you can use your system, you need to configure your system in Cisco Unified Communications
Manager (Unified CM).
You can configure your system and complete all steps in this chapter prior to configuring your device in
Unified CM, but you will not be able to complete any of the following actions until you register your
device:

The Touch device cannot download its software from Unified CM and you receive an error in the
logs.
The Cisco TelePresence device cannot place or receive calls.
The device appears as either a Cisco TelePresence System 500-32 or a Cisco TelePresence
System 1000 in the Cisco TelePresence Administration GUI.
