● The RTU changes to update mode:
– All connected and configured inputs are read.
– The read data is processed if programmed.
– The data is saved.
– The outputs are updated if programmed.
● If communication is configured and the requirements for data transfer are met, the RTU
connects to its communications partner for the first time.
The following requirements must be met:
– The inputs are configured, refer to the section Tags (Page 178).
– The tags are processed by the program, refer to the section Program blocks
– The data points have been created, refer to the section Telecontrol (Page 213).
– The RTU has a connection to the mobile wireless network, refer to the section LEDs
● When the data transfer is complete, or if no communication is configured, the RTU
changes to sleep mode.
Checking the antenna position
If the RTU is in communication mode, based on the signal strength displayed in the WBM,
you can check the optimum alignment of the antenna in different positions. For more on the
display of the signal strength refer to the section Wireless cell (Page 140).
