Mobile wireless settings
Here you configure the mobile wireless connection of the RTU.
● Enable mobile wireless interface
Activates the mobile wireless interface of the RTU.
If the mobile wireless interface is deactivated, the RTU can no longer be reached using
mobile wireless.
● PIN of the SIM card
The PIN protects the mobile wireless contract partner from unauthorized use of the SIM
card.
The SIM card plugged into the RTU is a requirement for successful entry of the PIN.
Enter the PIN for your SIM card that you received from your mobile wireless network
provider in the input box.
If you use a SIM card without a PIN, leave the input box empty.
Note
Locking if an incorrect PIN is entered three times
If you enter the PIN incorrectly three times in sccession, the SIM card will be locked. For
information on unlocking, see below.
An incorrectly entered PIN is not saved on the RTU.
● Selection of the mobile wireless standard
Here you specify the mobile wireless standard that the RTU is to use. The following
options are available:
– Automatic
– Only GSM/GPRS
– Only UMTS

The mobile wireless network with the higher standard (UMTS) is selected
automatically.
Fallback behavior of the RTU
If the establishment of a connection via a mobile wireless network with the UMTS
standard fails, the RTU attempts to dial in to an available network with the next lower
mobile wireless standard (GSM).
The RTU attempts to establish a connection only in a GSM network (GPRS).
The RTU attempts to establish a connection only in a UMTS network.
