4.6 Establishing the connection between RTU and configuration PC
OpenVPN for HTTP connections from the configuration PC to the RTU via WAN
If you want to establish an HTTP connection to the WBM of the RTU from your configuration
PC via mobile wireless, you need to use OpenVPN. This requires the following:
● A configured OpenVPN server
– First set up an OpenVPN server.
– Configure the OpenVPN clients you require in the VPN network (configuration PC,
● Installed OpenVPN client on the configuration PC
– Install an open VPN client on the configuration PC.
– Before establishing the connection to the RTU, you need to connect the OpenVPN
● Activated OpenVPN client on the RTU
– Configure the OpenVPN client of the RTU, see section VPN (Page 151).
– Importing certificates into the RTU
The VPN connection is established from the configuration PC via the VPN server to the
RTU.
