6.4 Resetting to factory settings
● Deleted data
The following data is deleted by resetting to factory settings:
– IP address of the LAN interface configured by the user
– All other configuration data in the memory of the RTU
– All process data in the memory of the RTU
– Configuration data on a plugged in SD card. The file "default.cfg" on the SD card is
– User names and passwords
– Configured PIN of the SIM card
– Event buffer
– Diagnostics buffer
– Diagnostics buffer on the SD card
– Retentive counter values
– Battery usage values
● Data not deleted
The following data is not deleted by resetting to factory settings:
– MAC address of the LAN interface:
– Process data on the SD card
– A manually created configuration file "user.cfg" on the SD card
Executing the "Reset to factory settings" function
There are various ways to restore the factory settings:
● Resetting using the WBM
For a description of the procedure, refer to the section Operating status (Page 127).
● Resetting using the "WKUP/RESET" button
For the number of times and duration of pressing the button, refer to the section The
button "WKUP/RESET" (Page 57).
● Reset via the "Operating state" function block
You can find a description of the procedure in the section Operating state (Page 323).
For the LED reactions during resetting and restarting, refer to the section LEDs (Page 46).
