Configuration (WBM)
4.14 WAN
● User name
Enter the user name for the APN. You obtain access data from your mobile wireless
network provider.
If your mobile wireless network provider does not require access data, leave the boxes
for user name and password empty.
● Password
Enter the password for the APN. You obtain access data from your mobile wireless
network provider.
● Authentication method
Select one of the following authentication methods according to which the user name and
password of the APN will be transferred:
– No authentication
– PAP
– CHAP
● Specify DNS server addresses manually
If the option is activated, you can configure one or two DNS servers for the network of the
mobile wireless interface.
– Preferred DNS server
– Alternative DNS server
As the host name, the station name of the RTU configured in the "System" tab is used.
● Enable answers to ping queries
If this option is enabled, the RTU responds to pings on the mobile wireless interface.
Notifications
● When the IP address changes
Here you specify whether a message (SMS or e-mail) is sent to a configured group of
recipients if the IP address changes (with dynamic assignment).
This function represents a simple alternative to the DynDNS service. You do not require a
DynDNS provider for this purpose
● Recipient group
Here, enter the recipient group for the message. You configure recipient groups on the
WBM page "Recipient / Groups".

Challenge Handshake Authentication Protocol
Authentication protocol with encrypted transfer of user name and password
Enter the IP address of the preferred server.
Enter the IP address of a substitute server.
If no substitute server is available, enter the address of the preferred server.
