Procedure
Use this procedure to replace an I-211M-H indoor ONT.
1
Deactivate the ONT (DLP 131). If you are using the SLID feature, this step is not
required. The ONT and the services can remain in service (IS).

Unplug the UPS and disconnect the power, Ethernet, POTS, and coaxial cables
from the ONT (DLP 132).

Disconnect the fiber optic cable with OptiTap connector from the ONT.

Remove the ONT that is being replaced.

Mount the replacement ONT and route the power, fiber optic, coaxial, POTS, and
Ethernet cables to the ONT (DLP 108). Plug the UPS back into the power source.

Connect the Ethernet cable to an RJ-45 connector (DLP 101).

Connect the POTS cables to the IDC and RJ-11 connectors (DLP 123).

Connect the coaxial cable (DLP 116).
9
If desired, mount the OPSU remotely from the replacement ONT (DLP 161).
10
If used, configure the SLID (DLP 129).

Note 1 — When grounding the I-211M-H ONT follow either the
procedure documented in this DLP or local authorities and practices.
Note 2 — Observe the following:
•
The I-211M-H ONT is intended to be replaced in accordance with the
applicable requirements of the NEC or CEC. Local authorities and
practices take precedents when there is conflict between the local
standard and the NEC or CEC.
•
The I-211M-H ONT must be installed by qualified service personnel
only.
When transitioning the packaged unit from one environmental
•
condition to another, let the unit remain in the sealed packaging
until it has stabilized to the new environment. This avoids the unit
forming internal condensation.

Note — A new SLID or the old SLID may be used with the replacement
ONT. If a new SLID is used, the new SLID must also be programmed at
the P-OLT using TL1 or a network manager. If the old SLID is used, no
changes need to be made at the P-OLT; see the Operations and
Maintenance documentation for the I-211M-H for more details.
