Perform the TRL Calibration
1. Press
Cal
CAL KIT SELECT CAL KIT
CALIBRATE MENU TRL*/LRM* 2-PORT
2. To measure the "TRL THRU," connect the "zero length" transmission line between the
two test ports.
3. To make the necessary four measurements, press:
THRU THRU
4. To measure the "TRL SHORT," connect the short to PORT 1, and press:
S11 REFL: TRLSHORT
5. Connect the short to PORT 2, and press:
S22 REFL: TRLSHORT
S22 REFL: TRLSHORT
6. To measure the "TRL LINE," disconnect the short and connect the TRL line from PORT
1 to PORT 2.
7. Press
LINE/MATCH
8. The line data is measured and the
labels are underlined.
9. To measure the "ISOLATION" class, press:
ISOLATION
You could choose not to perform the isolation measurement by pressing
OMIT ISOLATION
NOTE
You should perform the isolation measurement when the highest dynamic
range is desired.
To perform the best isolation measurements, you should reduce the system
bandwidth or activate the averaging function.
A poorly measured isolation class can actually degrade the overall
measurement performance. If you are in doubt of the isolation measurement
quality, you should omit the isolation portion of this procedure.
If loads can be connected to both port 1 and port 2 simultaneously, then the

10.Connect a load to PORT 2, and press:
