High/Low Transfer Case

The 2-speed hi/lo switch allows the driver to operate in
two speed ranges.
Push the 2-speed switch up for high gear and pull the
2-speed switch down for low gear.
When shifting the 2-speed hi/lo switch
from low to high or high to low the grader must
be stopped, the brake must be engaged, and
the moldboard must be on the ground. Lever
must be in low or high at all times.
NEVER shift the 2-speed hi/lo switch while grader is on
an incline.

Drive System

The WORK/AUTO switch allows the operator to contol
grader speed. In work mode, the motor stays at a
constant speed with maximum displacement. In auto
mode, the motor shifts as needed to allow for faster
grading.
Push the top of the work/auto switch to WORK position
for low speed (maximum displacement). Push the
bottom of the WORK/AUTO switch to AUTO position for
high speed (minimum displacement).
Note: Grader can move in reverse in both WORK
and AUTO modes. This allows the grader to
be backed up at the necessary speed, without
using the WORK/AUTO switch.
Note: In AUTO mode, if maximum pressure is
reached during moldboard loading, the motor
speed will drop to maintain the maximum
pressure allowed for its speed.
Front Moldboard Control
(Option)
The optional front moldboard is used for moving
materials and backfilling. The front moldboard lever is
mounted on the hydraulic control valve.
• Push the lever to lower the moldboard.
• Pull the lever to raise the moldboard.

TRANSPORTING

NOTE: When transporting the grader on a flat bed
vehicle, the vehicle must be capable of
carrying the grader safely in all driving
situations.
1.
Thoroughly clean the grader using a pressure
washer. Remove all loose gravel, mud, and debris
from moldboard, tires, and frame.
2. Make sure the combined height of the truck, trailer,
and loaded motor grader meet height restrictions
for the local area (area to be transported in)
including bridges, overpasses, and overhead
obstructions.
3. Park transport vehicle on a level surface.
4. Engage transport vehicle parking brake.
5. Install chocks or blocks against transport vehicle
and trailer wheels.
6. Drive grader onto trailer.
7.
Center grader on trailer based on weight, gravity,
and other factors needed to ensure safe transport.
8. Set grader parking brake.
9. Place forward/neutral/reverse (FNR) lever (Figure
3-7) in NEUTRAL (center position).
10. Idle grader at 1/2 speed for 3-5 minutes.
11. Lower moldboard, scarifier, and front blade (if
equipped) to flat bed surface.Turn blade to fit on
trailer taking care to keep mold board clear of tires.
12. Lower moldboard onto a board to stabalize.
13. Block motor grader wheels in both directions to
prevent rolling.
14. Shift grader FNR lever to neutral.
15. Turn key to OFF position and remove keys from the
ignition.
16. Properly chain the grader to the trailer to ensure
safe transport. Secure grader with chains strong
enough to prevent grader movement without failure.
(Figure 4-14).
Fasten chains or cables to grader
frame. Do not place chains or cables over
or against hydraulic line, hoses or electrical
harness. Use chains, cables, and binders of
sufficient capacity to secure the motor grader
without breaking, shifting, or slipping.
