Replacing Control Valve
Assembly
Removal
1.
Refer to Preparing Grader for Maintenance on
page 5-6 and park grader.
To replace the control valve
assembly, access may be needed from the
top and bottom of the grader. In addition to
access through the hydraulic motor guard,
under the grader, access from above may
be required by removing floor panels.
2. Remove pedestal front cover by
removing wing nuts and washers.

3. Remove floormat.
4. Remove left, middle, and right floor panels by
loosening hexbolts.

5. Remove insulation panels.
6. Remove cab cross brace by loosening hex bolts.
7.
Thoroughly clean the control valve and surrounding
areas, especially around hydraulic hoses and
fittings.
8. Tag and disconnect hydraulic hoses.
9. Immediately plug the hoses and control valve ports
to prevent contamination of the hydraulic system.
10. Support the control valve and remove control valve
mounting bolts and washers.
11. Remove control valve assembly.
12. Inspect control valve levers and linkages for wear
and damage.
13. Replace levers and linkages if necessary.
14. Remove control levers and linkages.
15. Inspect hydraulic fittings for wear and damage.
16. Remove fittings for installation in replacement valve
and replace if necessary.
Installation
1.
Refer to Preparing Grader for Maintenance on
page 5-6 and park grader.
2. Install fittings in replacement valve.
3. Insert control valve and secure with mounting bolts
and washers.
4. While supporting valve, use tags created during
removal to connect hydraulic hoses to fittings.
5. Start engine and check operation.
6. Repair leaks as necessary.
7.
Install cab cross brace by tightening hex bolts.
8. Install insulation panels.
9. Install left, middle, and right floor panels by
tightening hex bolts.
10. Install floormat.
11. Install valve bank access cover and secure with flat
washers and wing nuts.
